Meet the Robots!

Meet our 2024 Robot !

Named KnightShade

With its omni-directional swerve drives enabling it to speed around the field combined with a robust aluminum frame, KnightShade is a 119 pound menace that zips across the field with ease. KnightShade utilizes it’s refined pivot, telescope, and wrist mechanisms along with a vision system and advanced aiming algorithms to launch notes with deadly accuracy into the speaker. In this years game, Crescendo, our robot efficiently acquires and scores (shoots) foam-taurous shaped game pieces, deemed notes, with its high power shooter at high velocity with very little flutter from a variety of locations on the field. Being fully imagined, designed, manufactured, assembled, and programmed by students in house, KnightShade is one of the highest quality and most technically advanced robots we have ever made.

Meet our 2023 Robot!

Named Scorpion.

A swerve-drive, aluminum frame, 85 pound speedster with an articulated arm and pincers designed for grabbing small rubber traffic cones and inflated cubes, the game pieces required to score in this year’s Charged Up game. It was built almost entirely in-house by a dedicated team of students and mentors. “Scorpion” is known for running up big autonomous scores (driving with no driver) and has many of its important functions pre-coded into the driver controls, increasing the opportunities to score without additional human control needed.

Meet our 2022 Robot!

Named Lance.

Lance is our first competition robot built upon swerve drives. That revolutionized this year’s season for us. With a 24” by 24” frame, we were the smallest robot at all of our competitions which allowed us to be extremely fast and evasive. Using a single bar acquisition, we picked up balls from the floor and shot them into the high goal.

The most unique aspect of Lance is undoubtedly it’s climber. Climbing three “monkey bars” to the very top of this year’s climbing objective, it’s two arm telescoping system moves in a “sloth like” movement. Once at the very top, we have a mechanism that allows us to move left and right on the bar; the only mechanism of it’s kind.

Meet our 2021 Robot!

Named Spitfire.

Due to COVID, we reused our 2020 robot and improved it. This year’s game was completely digital and we competed in a series of recorded challenges. These challenges pushed coding skills and driver ability. You can watch our submission videos for this year here. Our performance in these challenges led us to win in the Ruthenium Group for INFINITE RECHARGE At Home.

Meet our 2020 Robot!

Named Spitfire.

Our robot boasts it’s custom modified west coast drive-base and has over 500 pounds of moving force! This drive-base ensures that no one moves us around during competition.

We are equipped with a hooded shooter for shooting the power cells and our virtual 4 bar acquisition mechanism to swiftly acquire balls.
